Alex Rodriguez felt “a little tentative, a little hesitant” during the rehab game previous night with the Yankees’ Triple-A associate, the club has pronounced it might delay on activating him.
Rodriguez began his minor league task last Friday, aspiring to get some time at the plate and in the field under his belt before going back Thursday for New York’s series opener versus the Twins.
At the same time as he was capable to play 8 innings previous night, going 1-2 with a pair of walks, Rodriguez informed his team that he was not running extreme and in fact informed reporters that it is pretty clear he is not going to play. He would not prove that he would just be able to go on Friday.
New York will so far have A-Rod link the club in Minnesota before creating a conclusion on him.
Girardi said, “Our plans right now are still to bring him to Minnesota tomorrow if everything goes OK. We may not activate him. We may just have him go through some things for a couple of days, then wait a couple of days to activate him.”
Right from the start, the Yankees have accepted that they do not want to hurry Rodriguez as he recovers from a torn meniscus. The entire idea of experiencing in-season surgery was so that he could return healthy for their playoff run.
