George W. Bush, a former president, was among hundreds of Texas Rangers followers who assisted put a new Guinness World Record for most people wearing sunglasses in the dark on Tuesday night.
It was reported that although most of the 33,533 people donned shades throughout the game with the Detroit Tigers at Rangers Ballpark, the sign to beat was 423 so officials of Guinness just disturbed to count two section of the crowd.
In that group Bush was included, who frequently goes to Rangers games, and Nolan Ryan, club President who were together observed on the big screen when the public announcer informed the crowd the record attempt was put to start after the sixth inning.
Danny Girton Jr., senior corporate communications manager for Guinness said, “I’m pleased to say that 424 people participated in this attempt.”
The shades were given to the followers by Reliant Energy as they entered the stadium. Girton Jr. added, “There were a further unconfirmed 30,000 who helped Reliant Energy in this attempt.”
