Splendid! Doll House at Surigao

We just got home from a trip from Surigao del Sur, we visited Hinatuan’s Enchanted River and Bislig’s Tinuy-an falls (I’ll feature them in my next post). What I’m really excited to blog about is the Doll House located at P-6, Brgy. Cumawas, Bislig City. We reached the place at around 9am after having bar-b-que breakfast at Bislig Bay. The Doll House is at the top of the hill where one has to climb 200+ steps to see it. The entrance fee costs only Php 20.00 each.

But upon reaching the doll house, you’ll be amazed by the Doll displays, it is protected by glasses because the dolls are so sensitive, no one is allowed to touch. Mr Arnold, the brother of the owner entertained us and showed us around the room filled with more than 200 Dolls, but as he said, their doll collection reaches to over 1000 dolls which they cannot display yet since there is no enough room for it.

The dolls ranges from Barbie dolls to Babushka dolls, from the smallest to big one and each doll has its own story to tell about. One is Anna Katharina doll,  her name was changed to Anastasia, if you happen to watch Disney’s Anastasia, that her story about, and the Hair of the Anna Katharina doll is the hair of the real Anna Katharina, cut and placed in the doll. I’m truly amazed by the dolls, some are but scary like this one;

Dolls ranges from Php 80,000 to 100,000 all are from abroad. (Wheew!) The hair of the dolls are from the person they replicate. The collection also displays models of 1920 with their beautiful gowns.

Dolls are adorned and costumed according to the country they we’re bought from. Dolls from Japan, Indonesia, Africa, US and other countries as well.  As for Philippines? Yes they do have dolls from Philippines and their Barbie dolls we’re costumed with Baro’t Saya, Maria Clara look and Filipina Look.

Visiting the doll house is also educational,  some costumes means the status of a person and its availability (civil status).

For some people who wanted to visit Surigao del Sur, have a trip to the Doll House, its nice and beautiful.

    Indeed, a dollhouse is the perfect gift for each little daughter. Four months ago I bought one for my Alice (3 years old) and she spends 2-3 hours each day playing house. I strongly recommend buying dollhouses !They come in different shapes and sizes and children love them !
