Tiger Woods Part Ways with Steve Williams

williamssteveTiger Woods has informed that he will no longer use Steve Williams as his caddie.

On his website, he says, “I want to express my deepest gratitude to Stevie for all his help, but I think it’s time for a change.  Stevie is an outstanding caddie and a friend and has been instrumental in many of my accomplishments. I wish him great success in the future.”

Since 1999, Woods and Williams have been with each other, in 13 major championships.  The relationship surely has been a worthwhile one for Williams. Woods has career earnings of $94,728,667, and at a five percent, William would have earned $4,736,433 sufficient enough for 220th on the all-time money record by means of Jason Sobel of the Golf Channel.

This is the third professional change for Woods since he and Elin Nordegren divorced.  He had finished his relationship with swing coach Hank Haney and IMG.

William was free to caddie for somebody else and was on the bag for Adam Scott at the U.S. and British Opens with Woods not playing golf as he recovers from knee and Achilles’ injuries.

  1. Sometimes I think you just need a change of pace, they had a long terrific run together but all good things come to an end. Unfortunately it was quite the messy breakup you hate to see it end that way. Maybe tiger should just lose the caddie and use one of the best golf gps these things are getting pretty advances and are an awsome tool on the golf course.
