Tiger Woods will play the Frys.com Open in California the first week of October, his first time fighting in the Fall Series of PGA Tour as he attempts to get his game prepared for the President’s Cup this coming November.
The Frys.com Open is October 6-9 at Corde Valle Golf Club, concerning 45 minutes south of his alma mater at Stanford.
On the website, Woods in the world said, “I always enjoy competing in my home state, and this tournament fits my schedule perfectly.’’
A week ago, Woods said that he perhaps might add a tournament due to his limited schedule this year brought on by leg injuries. He has played just eight PGA Tour events in 2011.
In the fifth year, the Frys.com was one of the more thrilling events of the Fall Series last year. Rocco Mediate holed out for eagle in every of the four rounds, including the 17th hole in the last round, for a one-shot win.
