Timberwolves, Trying to Persuade Terry Porter

terry-porterAccording to the Star Tribune of Minneapolis, the Minnesota Timberwolves have a dialogue with Terry Porter for their coaching vacancy.

The group is not saying anything on public regarding the vacancy.

As per record Porter has been a head coach for two times before, with the Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns.  He lasted only over half a season with the Suns in the 2008-09 season before being replaced by Alvin Gentry.

Porter used three of his 17 NBA season playing in Minnesota.  His background as a point guard can be eye-catching to the Timberwolves, who are searching for somebody who could assist Spanish import Ricky Rubio make the transition to the NBA.

Pacers whole team:  The Indiana Pacers have appointed Jim Boylen, University of Utah head coach as an assistant coach, rounding out staff of Frank Vogel.

Boylen also has been an assistant with the Houston Rockets, Miwaukee Bucks and Golden State Warriors.

The Pacers had beforehand introduced Brian Shaw as associate head coach and kept Dan Burke as an assistant.

The disappointment of Dwight Howard with the NBA lockouts has caused the Orlando Magic star to firmly think playing overseas.

Howard said in a private interview in Fairburn, Ga., that he would think about playing in China or Europe if the NBA lockout does not finish.
